"Firenzéhez és Sienához egyaránt közel fekvő középkorias kis hegyi településen egy igazi palazzo, stílusosan berendezett és ragyogóan tiszta szobával, kedves háziasszonnyal. Tökéletes szállás, mindenkinek ajánlom. "

"This was my first time to Italy and my step mom and I stayed at Maria's Palazzo Malaspina. Truly breathtaking. The house is over 500 years old and kept so up so well. This truly is a Bed and Breakfast. Maria and her staff cook breakfast every morning for her guests. Everyone can eat in the dining area from 8-10am. They coffee, special quiche dishes, fresh fruit, deserts, and handmade menu written for if you'd like something special. Maria is warm, inviting, kind, and lets you go and come as you please. A beautiful sitting garden in the back which we lived in. All restaurants (a whole 3 in town) were all amazing food! This place truly is a gem. It was hard to leave and cannot wait to return! "

"We stayed 3 nights there are 5 rooms our room was very nice & spacious with a King bed and lovely bathroom. Our host Maria was very friendly & helpful as were the staff. The town is small but nice with a fantastic (and cheap) wine bar and a few very good restaurants. A great location to use as a base for exploring the surrounding Chianti region. Thanks Maria for a wonderful experience we hope to be back! "

"We feel blessed to have found such a unique accommodation in the Chianti region. The guesthouse is owned by a lovely couple who take great pride in the property. It was beautiful. Our GPS took us to the area. You can't park directly outside as this village is 500 years old and there is no off street parking. Parking is a short distance from the location and the owner helped us with our bags. Upon arrival Maria made us coffee, gave us cake, showed the garden, and we enjoyed the sunset on our terrace. The little town is so clean and beautiful. There are two restaurants just outside the door of the Guesthouse where you can eat lunch or dinner. It was easy to travel throughout the Chianti region from there. Maria helped us with recommendations. The atmosphere in the breakfast room was very welcoming and warm. The other guests were very interesting and we made some new friends. Breakfast was perfect, loads of choice and custom eggs or omelet. High quality food. Coffee prepared the size we are used to in the US without question. Our in room fridge had water and a gift of wine was presented our second day. This property made Chianti a very special experience. Maria offers local wines for sale at a very reasonable cost. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, I highly recommend you book with Palazzo Malispina."

"My husband and I both really enjoyed our stay at this property. Maria and Mary really make us feel at home. We were greeted with a piece of home-made cake and cappuccino. We really loved the whirlpool bathtub in our bathroom which was very helpful after the long walks with touring the hill towns. Right next door is an excellent, Michelin-rated restaurant called La Toppa which served excellent food and had very friendly staff. Maria even went out of her way to make an inquiry phone call to assist me in finding a church where my grandparents were married in the early 1900s, as I cannot speak Italian. This property is nicely centered in the Chianti region, making it short commutes to several of the hill towns and wineries."

"Palazzo Malaspina, nestled in a medieval village 30 minutes by car from Florence, is a true wonderment of beauty, grace and elegance. This 500 year old home, The House of Maria, affectionately, boasts all the character and ambiance of a time long ago. Much care and meticulous attention to every detail has been afforded to ensure comfort, cleanliness and beauty throughout the house, particularly lovely and welcome are the French linens on the very comfortable beds, linen curtains, period furnishings, soft lighting, marble floors in the spacious and bright bathroom - which has a large and long jacuzzi bathing tub, a wonderful shower, heated towel racks, windows that open wide to the QUIET outdoors, terra-cotta floors throughout the house, and most splendid, a private garden space over-looking the beautiful countryside to enjoy an evening of wine or limoncello ;-). Maria, always at the service to her guests, is delightful and caring, as is her staff, Mary and George. Breakfast is served each morning in a grand dining room, the table formally set (arrive at your convenience) and a lovely presentation of home-baked cakes, frittatas, fruits, a menu of eggs and omelets if one would rather, juices and fresh coffee to greet your day. Palazzo Malaspina is a refreshing place of renewal and rest (after our rushed several days in Rome!). If one should need anything at all, Maria is always available. The village itself, or "neighborhood" is unique, having everything one would need to enjoy their stay without really having to go anywhere else. There is a laundry, several shopping stores, 3 highly rated restaurants (open the door at Malaspina, sit at a table of La Toppa ;-) and eat the most delicious, regional food! Boar, homemade pastas, soups, pork, sausages,. salads, etc. Walk the neighborhood, say hello. Or visit the La Tavernaadi Ciccino and enjoy authentic Italian pizza. There's a local meat store, a thousand year old church that sounds its bell on the hour, and friendly, welcoming people. Establishments in the village open around 9 am and close at 1:30, and re-open again at 5:30pm, except Mondays; Mondays everything is closed all day except the restaurants, which open at 7pm. The corner convenience store is open all day, every day. Cars are not typically allowed in the village proper, implying, QUIET ;-) Parking is very nearby. Please read the other reviews about Palazzo Malaspina! 5 star ratings through and through. If you are looking for a lovely, personable, comfortable place to end your busy day, look no further. My daughter and I traveled to San Donato from the train station in Florence by 'private transfer' (having already arranged additional transportation services to area wineries and other villages). We loved everything about our stay in San Donato, and not worrying about rental cars, etc, was a true blessing. Additionally, Vespa Rental of Chianti (In Greve) will deliver Vespas to the village if you're so inclined. I would definitely, with heart-felt joy, stay at Palazzo Malaspina again, next time, a couple weeks would be so nice. I hope you enjoy your stay at Palazzo Malaspina as much as I, and my daughter did. A note: Maria, Mary and George speak English."
