"Palazzo Malaspina is an absolute gem of a B&B located centrally between Florence and Sienna, ideal as a base for exploring Tuscany. This business is set within a 500 year old stone built property, our room, No 2, was spacious, comfortably furnished, quiet with very nice ensuite facilities and the added advantage of a small balcony affording stunning views over the Tuscan countryside. Breakfast was freshly prepared and plentiful served in a communal dining room which made for an interesting start to each day chatting with the other guests. This B&Bs best asset is Maria, the owner, offering a very warm welcome on arrival and offering invaluable advise to help plan your day, where to go, what to see, where to park, what restaurants to visit and anything else you may want to know. It really helped us make the most of our week in Tuscany. Thank you"

"Maria was the best hostess: breakfasts were delicious with local produce and scrumptious cappuccino each morning. Maria also gave super advice on places to visit in the local area and thanks to her we got to explore the local countryside and appreciate Tuscan beauty and many little villages I'm sure we would have overlooked otherwise. San Donato is peaceful and situated ideally for visits to Florence and Siena and boasts a couple of excellent restaurants."

"A "home away from home" in Tuscany We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Malaspina. The B&B is centrally located to explore the Tuscan countryside and its many cities and towns. Our bedrooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Maria's breakfasts were delicious and she gave us plenty of tips to make the most of our stay in the region. Grazie Maria!"

"Amazing accommodation in a medieval village The accommodation is a palazzo and only has 4 or 5 rooms. Maria is a great host who goes out of her way to make your stay enjoyable and meaningful Breakfast was very generous including huge variety for breakfast including eggs and pastries. The coffee was great On arrival you are provided with a local Chianti wine, which we considered to be of great quality Personalized and caring treatment Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Ensuite in your room and separate communal breakfast room Outstanding value for money"

"Maria is very friendly and prepares homey breakfast to make sure your day gets off to great start! The location in San Donato makes for an excellent central location to explore many parts of Tuscany and beyond - 90 minutes to Montelcino to do the Val D'Orcia drive (amazing!), 45 minutes to Siena, 30 minutes to San gimingnano and Florence, 90 minutes to Pisa and Lucca. The town of San Donato is a sleepy Tuscan village, which is exactly what we were looking for a few nights before staying in the more urban setting of Florence. the accommodations were excellent, with comfortable bed, modern bathroom and glorious views of Tuscan countryside to wake up to! Food options in the town for later dinners are limited. "
